Windows/doors are only as good as their construction!

Only our trained Internorm [1st] window partners and specialist dealers can guarantee adherence to current engineering practice as,for instance, RAL assembly. What should you be aware of when your windows are installed?

• Room ventilation,temperature and damp: All bonding points between walls and windows must have an airtight seal on the inside. This prevents warm air form the room infiltrating the joints, cooling down and encouraging condensation and mould-growth.
• Heat and sound insulation: The middle layer of the attachment joint is completely filled with proofing material. This takes care of the heat and sound insulation, but not wind- or damp-proofing.
• External temperature, rain, wind etc: The bond between the window and the wall must be sealed on the outside to resist wind and driving rain. Should damp infiltrate from inside, it must be able to dissipate through the seal.
• Net weight: The weight is carried by wooden blocks and the frame is secured by dowels or wall armatures. The space between wall and window is determined by the frame material. Nails are not part of current engineering technology!
• Movement in the construction of the frame or the building: Distortion can result from wear caused by wind and usage; pressure from being leant against, for instance. The frame lengths can alter due to temperature-change and (particularly in the case of large openings) bending may occur because of the construction itself.
